Bus franchising across Liverpool City Region is to be introduced a year earlier than originally planned. Phase one of the new model – which will bring routes, fares, and timetables under public control – is now due to begin in St Helens in 2026, with Wirral next, before rolling out across all six boroughs by the end of 2027.
