TfL plans traffic lights reset and utility clampdown to speed buses

More bus-friendly settings on traffic lights and enforcement action on streetworks are planned in a bid to tackle the chronic decline in London bus speeds.

Passengers have increasingly been deserting the capital’s bus network because of lengthening journey times – with six million fewer bus trips in 2024 than the previous year - miles off the target of six per cent growth.
