Northumberland Line generates 150,000 journeys with most stations unopened

The Northumberland Line, which reopened in December, has already generated 150,000 passenger journeys, despite only two of its six stations being open until 17 March. 

Half-hourly trains to Newcastle commenced on the former freight-only route on 15 December, initially serving only Seaton Delaval and the terminus at Ashington. A third station, Newsham, opened on 17 March.
