The Government has announced it is to make a Transport and Works Act Order for the Twin Sails Bridge at Holes Bay in Poole harbour. The 140-metre-long five-span lifting bridge over the Black Water Channel would connect Poole with Hamworthy and supplement the existing lifting bridge. It is part of the Poole Bridge Regeneration Initiative and would cater for additional traffic created by new housing.
