HA tests new road layout to ease M25-M3 jams

The Highways Agency is trialing a new road layout to try and improve traffic flow from the M25 onto the westbound carriageway of the M3 in Surrey.

Traffic exiting the M25 at junction 12 onto the M3 can tail back onto London's orbital motorway at peak times. To ease the problem the HA last week began a month-long trial whereby, at the merge of the motorways, two of the three lanes on the M3 will be dedicated for traffic joining from the M25, leaving a single lane for M3 westbound traffic.
