Parking standards for new housing in Kent are to be relaxed because of persistent complaints about inadequate or poor provision from residents.

New guidance drawn up by the Kent Planning Officers Group says maximum standards on the number of parking spaces per dwelling can continue to be appropriate in areas with parking restrictions such as city and town centres and edge of centre locations.

But for suburban, village and rural areas, the guidance says standards should be treated as a minimum....
