Mystery surrounds a bus company which last week announced that it would start running a free bus service in Perth after it was stripped of its operators’ licence at a public inquiry.

Bankfoot Buses, a subsidiary of consultancy firm Ptarmigan Transport Solutions, was ordered off the road by Scottish traffic commissioner Joan Aitken amid claims that it had sought to interfere with and taken predatory action against services run by  rival Stagecoach, the FTSE 250 transport group, which...
