Last month the Daily Mail revealed that London’s bendy buses are now for sale on the second hand market for just £80,000.
Apparently leasing firm Lombard are having a tough time selling the vehicles, hence the discount when compared conventional vehicles of a similar age. However, sales manager Glenn Salmon revealed that there have been enquiries about the buses from Australia and South Africa.
It’s interesting that no Scandinavian airports, the spiritual home of the bendy bus if London mayor Boris Johnson is to be believed, have been in touch to buy a few. However, one airport, somewhat closer to home, seems interested in the vehicles. A London specification bendy bus has been recently sighted hard at work in the glamourous surroundings of Luton Airport.
