The ranks of the council-owned bus operators in the UK have been further reduced with the news that Go Ahead has agreed to buy Plymouth Citybus from Plymouth City Council. The move means that soon just 11 British towns and cities will retain ownership of their local bus operations and follows the recent decision by Caerphilly County Borough Council to sell its Islwyn Borough Transport business to Stagecoach Wales.
