ScotRail has announced plans for a rolling stock cascade from September 2010 after the introduction of a new fleet of trains on its routes in Ayrshire and Inverclyde.

The first of the Transport Scotland-funded Class 380 trains are currently under construction at Siemens' factory in Germany and their introduction will add 9,000 seats to the Scottish rail network.

Meanwhile, from December 2010, trains will once again run on the Airdrie to Bathgate rail line, with new stations created, others...
