Pedicabs operating in Cheltenham will be licensed the same ways as black taxicabs in the spa town. This follows Cheltenham Borough Council’s decision that pedicabs, nicknamed ‘rickshaws’, will be regulated by the same rules governing Hackney carriages and their drivers set out in the Town Police Clauses Act 1847.
