Scotland leads quest for the all-purpose app

The UK’s transport authorities have been developing a range of integrated smart-phone information services

Scotland is giving top-level status to the role of public authorities in promoting better passenger information. In a pioneering collaboration, Transport Scotland, the devolved government’s national transport agency, has joined forces with regional trip-planning service Traveline Scotland to create a unified product combining the former’s traffic information with the latter’s public transport content in a single smartphone app.
