Slower vehicle speeds are very popular. A 20mph limit offers safer streets, quality living and is key to raising physical activity. It also benefit traders through higher footfall and profits. The Independent found over a third of local authorities had either agreed to, or were considering, the introduction of widespread 20mph limits without humps.
