Road accident fatalities in Scotland fell to 170 in 2012, 15 fewer than in 2011 and the lowest number since records began, according to provisional statistics from Transport Scotland. Recorded serious injuries rose by 82 (4%) to 1,959 but slight injuries fell by 269 (3%) to 10,446.
