Aldi rejects council claim that it used ANPR unlawfully

Supermarket chain Aldi used unauthorised ANPR cameras at its store in Mold in Flintshire during a 12-month period, Flintshire County Council has reported. The authority said the cameras breached a Section 106 planning agreement which stated that only a patrol officer could monitor the car park. The cameras, at the store’s entrance, captured vehicle details and sent out parking charge notices to those that stayed for longer than the permitted 90 minutes.
