Town rejects plan for signed-only 20mph

RESIDENTS OF a West Sussex town have voted overwhelmingly to reject the implementation of signed-only 20mph speed limits on residential streets. 

West Sussex County Council consulted Worthing’s residents about the idea of a town-wide 20mph speed limit on residential streets in response to a campaign by local group 20’s Plenty for Worthing, which said the lower limit would improve road safety and enhance the local environment for walking and cycling.
