Cars are a constant danger to animals, who often fall victim to being run over on our roads. But occasionally, the car can make the lives of animals better. A pair of robins and their chicks, who have turned a 4x4 into their home, are thought to have been driven some 250 miles around Somerset before being discovered.

Dave Marchant found the robins’ nest in the engine compartment of his Toyota Land Cruiser when he checked the oil. Marchant has said he will not use his car until the chicks...
