The DfT is set to unveil a new self-assessment questionnaire that will help determine councils' future funding for road repairs.

The new minister for national and local roads, Andrew Jones, is to address the Future Highways 2015 conference on Thursday. He is expected to provide an update on the new incentive element for the highway maintenance block grant funding allocations from the next financial year onwards.

There will also be a workshop at the event led by Alan Taggart, associate director of KPMG, who on behalf of the Highway Maintenance Efficiency Programme worked with Matthew Lugg, HMEP advocate, in developing the new assessment framework.
