I refer to the letter from Brian Dalton regarding the provision for cyclists and buses in housing estates (Letters LTT 12 Jun).
Mr Dalton appears not to be familiar with the advice in Manual for Streets 2 which, on my reading, expresses a clear preference for cyclists to be accommodated on the carriageway on non-local roads, certainly within urban areas.
