The Welsh Government is developing a business case for a third bridge over the Menai Strait, which separates Anglesey from the mainland.

Congestion in peak periods affects the A55 Britannia Bridge, the principal crossing. Anglesey is a popular dormitory area for people who work in Bangor, on the mainland. The bridge also carries traffic from Holyhead, Britain’s second largest roll-on roll-off port.
