A car park in Kingston upon Hull will be donating a fifth of its evening profits to a local church over the Christmas period.
The King William House Car Park, run by APCOA Parking, is extending its opening hours to provide evening parking for the Holy Trinity Church throughout the Christmas season.
One-fifth of the car park’s evening profits will go to the Holy Trinity Development Trust, which is planning to redevelop the church shop.
King William House Car Park does not usually operate in the evening, but APCOA is extending its opening hours to ensure visitors to the church can attend a number of evening events throughout December.
The Revd. Canon Dr Neal Barnes said: “I am pleased to say that we will be busier than ever this year as we welcome our visitors for the Christmas season. We are so grateful to APCOA for kindly offering to help provide evening parking to our congregation and the local community as it is so difficult to park around here.”
APCOA’s UK managing director Kim Challis said: “We are delighted to be able to help the Holy Trinity Church and its visitors during the Christmas season. We hope the money raised can support them in their redevelopment efforts and in supporting the local community.”
