LOCAL AUTHORITIES in South East England are exploring the merits of establishing a statutory sub-national transport body (STB). 

Discussions are at an early stage and the geography has yet to be finalised. The initial thinking is that the body could stretch from Kent in the east to Hampshire in the west.
