Flintshire County Council is supporting a proposed new trunk road to relieve existing cross-border roads in the Deeside area.

The Welsh Government has earmarked £200m to tackle long-standing congestion problems on the A55 Expressway and A494. It recently consulted on a blue option, principally junction improvements and widening of existing roads, and an alternative red option, involving a 13km new road between the A55 and A548.
