Human drivers will quickly have to be banned from roads on which autonomous vehicles are authorised, a transport economist has predicted. 

Paul Buchanan, a partner at consultant Volterra, gave an upbeat assessment of a future in which highly autonomous vehicles (AVs) and Hyperloop magnetic levitation technology transform travel patterns.
