Ford scraps Chariot minibus business

Ford is to close its entire business of ‘Chariot’ fixed route minibus services and employee transit in the US and UK. 

Chariot was launched in San Francisco five years ago using 15-seater Ford vans. In 2016 the company was purchased by Ford’s new Smart Mobility business. 

Commuter services launched in London last February, connecting densely populated areas to transport interchanges. They operated under London Service Permits issued by Transport for London.
