Cheshire East Council has given more details of its plan to redevelop Crewe railway station and its surroundings, which go far beyond the changes envisaged by the Government to accommodate HS2 services.
The DfT announced last spring a plan to extend platforms 5 and 6 at Crewe to 400 metres in length to accommodate the joining and splitting of HS2 trains (LTT 16 Mar 18).
