Tech firm Fusion Processing has become a partner in the Government-funded £8.1m trial of HGV platooning. Branded HelmUK, the project will see three DAF lorries travel in the platoon with the lead driver controlling the speed and braking of all three. A bespoke version of Fusion Processing’s CAVstar system has been fitted to the HGVs, with the optical and radar sensors gathering data about how other drivers behave around the lorries.
