Cumbria Chamber of Commerce says the new operator of the West Coast Main Line franchise is backing the campaign to ensure that HS2 trains stop at Carlisle, Penrith and Oxenholme. The Chamber reports that Avanti West Coast has said HS2 trains should “as far as possible” mirror the existing stopping pattern of InterCity trains through Cumbria.
