Whilst most of Doug Oakervee’s review of HS2 is rational and welcome, there is considerable confusion in his final report over train services and frequency, suggesting that even this august forum has been devoid of input on operational issues. This is unfortunate, as rail infrastructure is only worth the train service it delivers.
