Faslane workers to be quizzed about rail

15 May 2020

Workers at the Faslane naval base in Argyll & Bute are to be surveyed to see if they would use a rail service if a station was built on the nearby West Highland Line. Faslane employs about 8,500 people. “Traffic congestion is a real issue getting into the base, “ Hitrans partnership manager Frank Roach told LTT. Hitrans has ruled out building a branch into the site, instead favouring a station on the West Highland Line. Roach said it could be “a couple of hundred yards from the north gate”. A special commuter service would be operated.
