Transport Scotland is consulting on 11 corridors for a new road to end the disruption caused by landslips closing the A83 trunk road serving Argyll and Bute. Some options would cost billions of pounds and involve creating a new trunk road into Argyll and Bute via a new fixed link of the Clyde estuary.

The A83 has been closed repeatedly by landslips at the Rest and Be Thankful beauty spot between Arrochar and Cairndow. The latest incident in mid-September also closed the emergency diversion...
