The Welsh Government has provided the background to its recent statement that it has committed more than £1bn to Metro schemes.

Last month, it published maps of its current and proposed public transport enhancements in South Wales, North Wales and West Wales including Swansea Bay (LTT 1 November). Introducing the maps, deputy climate change minister Lee Waters said: “We’ve committed over £1bn to our three Metro programmes.”
