Sunderland City Council has launched a public consultation on its plans to enforce moving traffic regulations from next year.

The authority intends to apply to the DfT for new powers under Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), which would allow it to enforce certain types of moving traffic restrictions, such as cycle lanes, yellow box junctions, banned turns and no entries in locations where road users regularly ignore them.
