Cleanpark launches Spectra service

Equipment, training and professional back-up for car park operators self-cleaning sites

The Cleanpark UK Spectra service has been devised to enable car park managers to maintain a hands-on control over their cleaning regime

Keeping car parks clean and tidy is a task undertaken in-house by many car park operators. However, the task of keeping heavily trafficked parking areas spick and span can be challenging.

Cleanpark UK, a specialist in hard surface cleaning, is offering an innovative and all-encompassing service that supports parking operators in cleaning their facilities by combining their own available resource with the expert cleaning personnel at Cleanpark. This hybrid system allows day-to-day cleaning in-house with periodic deep cleans by the visiting experts at Cleanpark.

The Spectra service has been devised to enable car park managers to maintain a hands-on control over their cleaning regime, but get the best out of their cleaning systems and products with professional cleaning support.

The new Spectra packages are bespoke, designed for each individual facility, and offer the client a hybrid option mixing professional cleaning alongside training that enables operators to carry out effective and cost-efficient self-cleaning.

Cleanpark provides the car park operator with the correct machine for the project and a tailored Spectra package for an agreed monthly fee.

“It is true to say that many of the UK’s car park stock is neglected. Cleaning is often carried out sporadically or reactively, and even then, the amassed dirt is often spread around rather than removed,” says Cleanpark UK director Mark O’Neill.

“While often regarded as a necessary evil, there are many reasons to keep your car decks clean. Obviously having them look smart and welcoming is a big reason, but think also about avoiding slip hazards and blocked drains. Key for those who may have newly installed deck products is the maintenance of supplier and contractor warranties which may have regular cleaning as a prerequisite.”

Often parking owners and operators use their own operatives to carry out the cleaning in between other duties, which makes sense of course from a labour utilisation and economics point of view. However, Cleanpark says in-house staff are often inexperienced and the machines being used are often used incorrectly, poorly maintained or in some cases simply wrongly specified.

“As a result Cleanpark often find these self-cleaned facilities to be very dirty when they are called upon for one of their professional and unique 5-point deep cleans,” says O’Neill. “This issue, added to feedback from the marketplace, got Cleanpark thinking: Why not let the client self-perform but at the same time help them with equipment supply, staff training, troubleshooting, technical back up, planned deep cleans and general expertise?

“Our new Spectra package is designed for each individual facility. Just as no two car parks are the same with the same available in-house resource, then no two Spectra packages are the same. Designing a package to suit each situation is key to the success of the system.

“We look at what resource the customer has available and balance this with what input is required from ourselves to balance the system between client resource and Cleanpark involvement. Thus the structure of the package is determined and the client is offered the hybrid option – the savings of self-cleaning, but with the effectiveness of expert input; economy with quality.”

Cleanpark assesses each site individually and provides the correct machine for the project with a tailored Spectra package for an agreed monthly fee. O’Neill says: “Often the Spectra package proves more economical than buying, hiring or leasing a machine alone, but delivers much more in quality of the clean.

“We hope the innovative Spectra package opens the door for affordable high-quality cleaning in car parks to customers who previously couldn’t justify the cost. This hybrid system allows them to efficiently utilise their own labour, correctly trained by us, using equipment designed for their particular project and supplied by us. All the time knowing that ultimately, we are involved in their cleaning processes to ensure they maintain that 5-star finish.”
