After studying transport management at Aston University, Mathieson joined Stagecoach as a management trainee. He rose through the ranks and was latterly manager of the group’s Oxford bus network. However, he left to join rival group National Express where he is area manager for Birmingham Central garage. He’s very happy that he chose a career in the public transport sector.
