20,000 journeys are now made by Barclays Cycle Hire every weekday

London's Barclays Cycle Hire scheme passed another milestone last week when the millionth journey was recorded, 10 weeks after the launch of the scheme.

So far 90,000 have signed up for membership of the scheme with 20,000 journeys being made every weekday.

Commenting on the landmark, London mayor Boris Johnson, said: "A million thank yous go to Londoners for the warmth in which they have embraced our beautiful blue bikes.
