Bus franchising is the way forward, say councils

Bus Franchising should be the preferred model for delivering bus services across England and Wales, the Local Government Association has told the Competition Commission’s local bus market inquiry.

The Conservative-led LGA says franchising is the “most effective way” to remedy the adverse effects on competition identified in the interim findings of the Commission’s inquiry.
