Rail e-ticket marks move away from paper tickets in Northern Ireland

Rail passengers in Northern Ireland can now buy, receive and display an electronic ticket on their mobile phones. Translink decided to roll out the service to all passengers at the start of this year after a successful trial involving 200 people. The system, developed by Translink Ticketing Systems and Trapeze Group, is compatible on any standard mobile phone that can access the internet as well as iPhone, Blackberry and Android handsets.
