Geoff Allister, chief executive of the Department for Regional Development’s Roads Service in Northern Ireland, is to retire at the end of October. Allister was appointed chief executive in 2007 and has overseen the delivery of a major programme of road improvements. He is the immediate past president of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and will take up the position of executive director of the Highways Term Maintenance Association in November (LTT 14 Sep)....
