Sound bites are memorable but rarely a reliable guide to reality

Parking as a topic is complex and dynamic, but it is one where facts and data are surprisingly scarce. What few statistics about local authority parking are available at a national level can present a superficial picture, which would be much better interpreted if only more data were available via annual reports, as recommended by the Traffic Management Act (TMA), the British Parking Association, the Transport Select Committee and both the London and national adjudicators.
