Rail passengers in Scotland could face lower fare rises in January than most parts of England and Wales. Scottish transport minister Keith Brown has announced that peak-time regulated fares will rise 2.5% under the Scottish Government’s policy of RPI+0% (using the July RPI rate) and off-peak regulated fares will again be frozen at 2013 prices.
