Scots rail fare rise ‘lower than England’

Rail passengers in Scotland could face lower fare rises in January than most parts of England and Wales. Scottish transport minister Keith Brown has announced that peak-time regulated fares will rise 2.5% under the Scottish Government’s policy of RPI+0% (using the July RPI rate) and off-peak regulated fares will again be frozen at 2013 prices. Brown added that, during the next Scot-Rail franchise, regulated peak-time fares will rise by no more than RPI and off-peak regulated fare...
