Stratford, Ashford... which other gyratories can we scrap?

With reference to the article in the 3 April issue saying that the London Borough of Newham intends to turn the Stratford gryatory road system into a two-way system (‘Borough prepares plan to axe Stratford’s ‘obsolete’ gyratory’ LTT 03 Apr), I had a key role as a senior highway planning engineer with the Greater London Council in planning the gyratory in the late 1960s, in conjunction with Newham and London Transport.
