We learnt recently that Ken Huddart died several months ago, following a fall, at the age of 85.
As head of traffic signals research, and subsequently chief traffic engineer for the Greater London Council, Ken pioneered several of the traffic management and road safety practices that are now accepted as standard worldwide. He was also an extremely supportive superintending engineer, training many of today’s senior professionals.
