Northern Rail’s revenue increased 1.4% from £577.5m in 2014 to £585.3m for the year ended 31 December 2015, according to the results of Serco, which runs the franchise in a 50:50 joint venture with Abellio. Northern’s operating profit was 9.6% up at £19.4m (2014: £17.7m). Serco-Abellio has operated the franchise since December 2004 but Arriva takes it over in April....
