A student has developed a parking app to help solve city centre parking problems. Dylan McKee, a 20-year-old computer science student at Newcastle University, created the ‘Parking Fairy’ app as part of an open data competition.
The Parking Fairy tracks the location of users and provide them with alerts about nearby car parks that have spaces available in the Newcastle area.
The app considers the weather, prioritising covered car parks over surface lots if it is raining.
