Scots to review concessionary travel eligibility age as budget pressures bite

The Scottish Government is to consult stakeholders over changes to its concessionary travel scheme, including the possibility of raising the age of eligibility for older people. 

Free bus travel is available to anyone aged 60 and over in Scotland and Wales, whereas in England the age of eligibility is tied to the pensionable age of women, which is being gradually raised and will reach 66 in 2020.
