MPs did not breach rules by accepting council parking passes

Two MPs who were given free parking passes by a Cheshire council did not break parliamentary rules, a watchdog has decided.

Labour MPs Chris Matheson and Justin Madders were accused of “taking a freebie” from Cheshire West and Chester Council by a Conservative councillor. However, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards found the passes did not need to be declared.
