Oxfordshire County Council is replacing almost all of its on-street pay & display parking machines due to the introduction of the new pound coin. The authority is spending £342,700 on 85 Cale CWT Compact machines, which accept by both coin and card payments.
These will replace Schlumberger DG4s, which were bought in 1994 and cannot be upgraded to accept the new 12-sided pound coin.
