Shepway District Council has scrapped the physical parking scratchcards it supplied to residents and hoteliers in the coastal towns of Folkestone and Hythe, replacing them with virtual parking permits. The Kent council is now using RingGo Resident Visitor Permits (RVPs) and the RingGo Virtual Wallet.
The move to virtual permits is expected to save the council £12,000 a year through reduced staff time and the costs of distribution.
