Northern Ireland council writes of £180k parking debt

Derry City and Strabane District Council has agreed to write off nearly £180,000 in unpaid parking fines, because it has exhausted all avenues for retrieving the bad debts. 

The Northern Ireland council’s business and culture committee approved the move.

A spokesman explained that the council currently operates 15 paid car parks in the city of Derry/Londonderry and Strabane Town Centre.
